Kalghatgi Police arrested one person on the charges of poaching a deer in Galagi-Hulkoppa forest area in Kalghatgi taluk of Dharwad district police on Thursday.
The accused has been identified as Rustumsab Dadesab Teragao (45). Three of his accomplice are absconding.
Police said the accused persons reportedly hunted a deer in Galagi-Hulkoppa forest area on Wednesday night and sharing the booty. At that time police got an information and raided along with forest officials. They seized deer meat and its skull. They are sent to veterinary department for laboratory test.
Dy.SP N G Sanikoppa, Police Inspector Bisnalli, PSI Gasti and Assistant Conservator of Forests S K Pawar and others participated in the raid.
