NTCA probes tiger deaths in MP, 27 held for poaching

Bhopal: A two-member committee constituted by the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) has started inquiry into the incidents of tiger deaths in the Madhya Pradesh.

State government on Monday claimed 27 people have already been arrested in connection with seven cases of deaths of five tigers.

Panel holding inquiry comprises D Swain, inspector general of forest, NTCA, Nagpur and AR Choudhary, assistant director of Wildlife Crime Control Bureau, Jabalpur. "We have already visited PTR between April 4 and April 6," the duo told a news agency on Monday. The two-member committee has already started investigation and visited the Pench Tiger Reserve (PTR) where deaths of seven big cats out of 18 were reported during last twelve months
