Four deer poached in Jharan?

Chandrapur: In a suspected case of poaching of four spotted dear in Forest Development Corporation of Maharashtra's Jharan range the internal remains of what could be four spotted deer were recovered in its compartment number 103 on Thursday.

After the matter came to light, the officers of adjacent territorial Kothari range and FDCM Jharan range rushed to the scene. The abdominal remains of the four animals were laying scattered, and there were signs of butchering of animals in the forest patch adjacent to agriculture fields. ACF, Central Chanda forest division, Dhotre claimed that their team had went to spot where of internal remains of four spotted deer were recovered. However, as the incident had occurred in FDCM area, territorial staff returned after informing FDCM officials, he claimed.

RFO Jharan range, Ajay Pawar admitted the recovery of internal organs and but maintained that the matter of poaching of four deer was rumour. He maintained villagers might have disposed the remains of some animals. They are sending samples of recovered parts to a lab in Hyderabad
