Jhajjar, June 19 Former Indian cricket captain Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi's police remand has been extended by a day in the black buck poaching case.

Pataudi surrendered in a Jhajjar court yesterday after his anticipatory bail plea was turned down by the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Today, he was also taken to the site of the alleged hunting incident.

"Yes, we have taken him to the hunting spot in the village," said Jhajjar Superintendent of Police, Hanif Qureshi.

The police are trying to establish the ownership of the weapons found when the vehicles carrying Pataudi and six others were intercepted.

Pataudi was on the run for almost a fortnight after the night of June 3 when the former cricketer and his friend, MNC managing director Shashi Singh, along with six other people were detained by the Haryana police in Jhajjar district.

The carcasses of a blackbuck and two hares were recovered from their cars.

An FIR was filed two days later after the news hit the media. The Haryana police gave the former captain three deadlines to surrender, the last of which expired on Friday.
