Bhubaneswar: Green Orissa, a State-level platform for organisations and people concerned about global warming and climate change issues, will be launched here on Thursday. Organisations like the Indian Red Cross Society, the State Branch of the United Nations Development Programme, the United Nations Volunteers, BISWA, Bakul Foundation and CYSD have come together to promote volunteerism and initiate action to make the State green. The campaign intends using tree plantation as a beginning to meet the challenges posed by climate change, according to Honorary Secretary of the Red Cross, State Branch Prof Mangala Prasad Mohanty.
