'Global strategy must to tackle climate change'

There is a need for a global strategy to tackle the challenges of climate change, said Zilla Panchayat Education Standing Committee member A Lokesh Kumar.

He was speaking at an awareness programme on climate change organised by the Government PU College’s Eco Club in association with the Union Environment and Forest Ministry and State Vijnan Parishat.

The earth will have to face serious consequences if the effects of climate change are not tackled at this stage only, he cautioned.

The programme’s district convener T G Premkumar explained the role of students in environment protection. He said one need to be cautious to face the challenges of the global warming.

Gram Panchayat President K E Kareem, Vice President M A Usman, former president P F Sebastian, Monappa Poojary, Principal George Francis, vice principal B K Ramachandra, Taluk High School Teachers Association C T Somashekhar and others were present.

Students took out a jatha in this connection.
