Seminar on climate change stresses on using bio-fuel

Use of Bio-fuel, plantation of saplings, CFL instead of bulbs, Rainwater harvesting, Public transport were among the solutions, which were derived on the concluding day of Ambiance 2008: The climate change meet, for countering the climate change effects. Events like grand discussion on climate change, documentary screening and performance by members of "Kala Arpan' took place.

The Cell for Awareness and Research in Environmental Law Studies (CARES) of the National Law Institute University, Bhopal has organized the event.

The programme began with the grand discussion, which included the participation of teachers, professors, people from judiciary, social workers, law students, school students and scholars. The occasion was marked by the presence of legal luminaries like Ex-member of Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission, Justice Shukla and Ex-District Judge of Bhopal Renu Sharma.

Justice Shukla in his address, emphasised on the fact that there have been various 'Acts' and laws enacted by the Parliament on the issue of environment, but what is important is their proper implementation. Ex district judge Renu Sharma said that urbanisation is the major factor, which has led to deforestation, which is done mainly by business household.

Neha Balara of St Joseph's Convent said that student don't prefer environmental studies as graduation course. If people from run India can bring about change then the urban sector can also do it.

After the conclusion of Grand discussion, a documentary movie on 'Automobile contribution to climate change' prepared by the students was screened.

This was followed by the performance given by members of 'Kala Arpan' centre for fine Arts and performing arts.
