Lucknow IIM to set up climate change centre

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Lucknow, will set up a centre for business of climate change, director Devi Singh said.

This would be the first business school in India to have a centre of excellence focussing on environmental issues and their linkage to businesses.

The centre would undertake studies to analyse issues facing businesses due to climate change, carry out research to understand the consequent risk to them and document the best business practices being followed at the global level. The centre would suggest appropriate strategies for mitigating climate change and conduct studies on green consumerism, green businesses, carbon neutrality and carbon footprints. It would also provide consultancy services to the corporate sector in the area of carbon markets and clean development mechanism.
