New Delhi , Nov. 9 THE Minister for Environment and Forests, Mr A. Raja, has called for stabilisation of greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere at a level that would prevent dangerous anthropogenic interference with the climate system.

Inaugurating the 22nd session of the inter-Governmental panel on climate change, the minister said that such a level should be achieved within a sufficient timeframe to allow all eco-systems to adapt naturally to climatic change, apart from ensuring that food production is not threatened and, at the same time, enabling economic development to proceed in a sustained manner.
