2.75 lakh saplings to be planted by BDA, Forest Dept in dist

Ravi Chandel Bathinda, July 12 A green initiative has been taken by the Bathinda Development Authority (BDA) and the Forest Department to provide relief from the rising temperature in the future. Under a drive, around 2,75,000 trees will be planted in Bathinda district. Of which 50,000 saplings have already been planted on various link roads — Khyaliwala to Bhokra, KotheSandhua Wala to MehmaBhagwana and Sibian to Buladewala.

The plantation work on the links roads are being done by MGNREGA workers under the Roadside Plantation Policy. There are 17 link roads which come under the MGNREGA policy. Moreover, 25,000 saplings in each Forest Department nursery are also being planted by Forest Department workers and MGNREGA workers.
