Need ban on glass-coated manja too: PETA
Correspondent : MankaBehl
Not completely happy with the National Green Tribunalorder imposing a nationwide ban on synthetic and nylon manja, popularly known as Chinese manja, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has pressed for a ban on glass-coated manja too.

"It is a proven that glass-coated manjas have caused injuries to birds, animals and humans and thus, should be outlawed," said PETA India's public policy lead Nikunj Sharma.

"In December last year, the tribunal had issued an interim ban on the production, sale, procurement, and import of all forms of manja and allowed kite-flying only with a plain cotton thread. This new order seems to have been slightly diluted."
