Plastic carry bags to be banned in State from May 1

Shivraj Cabinet has decided to ban plastic carry bags in the State from May 1. In compliance to the order of the National Green Tribunal (NGT), the Cabinet has given approval to Madhya Pradesh Bio Indestructible Waste (Control) Amendment Bill-2017 for complete ban on use of plastic carry bags in the State.

Also approval has been given for Mukhyamantyri Young Professional for Development Programme.

The main aim of the programme is to utilise the energy, capacity and vision of the youths in the development of the state and to provide an opportunity to the youths to develop close understanding for Government workings. Under the programme, 51 Mukhyamantri Research Associates and 6 programmeco-ordinators will be selected.

The Cabinet has given an approval to start a new scheme in the name of MukhyamantriGraminPayjal Yojana costing Rs. 900 crore under the Public Health Engineering department. Under the scheme, works to provide potable water through hand pumps in 10 thousand rural settlements and Nal-Jal (Tap Water) schemes will be carried out in 5 thousand rural settlements in the year 2017-18. Also source conservation of Nal-Jal schemes besides maintenance of hand pumps installed in the rural areas and maintenance of group potable water schemes will be undertaken in this scheme.

Moreover, the Cabinet has decided to start the first phase of DeendayalAntyodayaRasoi Yojana in the urban areas of 49 district headquarters of the state.

Keeping in view the health services in the State, the Cabinet has given a sanction to increase MBBS seats from 150 to 250 in Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal, and Rs 119.68 for construction, equipment, furniture and vehicle besides creation of total 555 posts and its fulfilment.

Furthermore, the Cabinet has given an administrative sanction of Rs 70.98 crore, Rs 69 crore, Rs 70.98 crore, Rs 69 crore, Rs 68.99 crore and Rs 69.04 crore towards purchase of equipment, furniture, vehicles and books for establishment of new medical colleges in Vidisha, Shahdol, Ratlam, Khandwa, Chhindwara and Shivpuri respectively.

Also administrative sanction has been given for posts’ creation and to take services from outsourcing in these colleges.

Decision to establish bone marrow transplant centre in MY Hospital, Indore, has been taken in the cabinet meeting.

The cabinet has granted approval for amendments in process followed to issue prosecution sanction against

government officers-employees. Investigation agency/personal complainants while sending cases of prosecution sanction/application record directly to the administrative department will endorse a copy to the Law and Legislative Affairs department and General Administration department. If administrative department after the examination of the case found that case is suitable for prosecution approval than the department will issue prosecution approval within 45 days of the case received and will forward it to the investigation agency/personal complainants with a copy to Legal and Legislative Affairs department and General Administration Department. The Cabinet has decided to transfer 342 acre land situated in North and South TT Nagar to Urban Development and Housing Department and later on to Bhopal Smart City Development Corporation for selected area based development components under the Smart City Mission.

The Cabinet has given an approval for upgradation of various roads. Furthermore, Cabinet has given an administrative sanction to the irrigation projects of 3 districts. Under this an administrative sanction of Rs. 385.79 crore has been given for Kadan Medium Irrigation Project of Sagar district to facilitate irrigation on 9,990 hectare area. This project will benefit 53 villages of Rahatgarh and Banda blocks of Sagar district. Also Potable water will be provided from this project to 107 villages of Rahatgarh block–Sagar district.
