After hearing reports of the floods in Assam that have affected the Kaziranga National Park, animal rescuers from the city are flying out on Monday to lend a helping hand.

Nishanth Ravi, Shravan Krishnan and Robin Paul will be working at the park for a few days to assist the Forest Department there to help and rescue the animals.

“While there is a lot of rescue and relief work already being done for the people, we offered the Forest Department our assistance after hearing that parts of the national park had been submerged and that the wildlife was under threat,” said Mr. Ravi.

He added that they would be joined by more people in the course of the week, depending on the weather.

The team has also collected relief materials for people affected by the floods.
