Center for Environmental
Located on the Cook College
Campus, brings together university investigators to provide
a social science perspective to environmental
problem-solving. CEC (formerly the Environmental
Communication Research Program) has gained international
recognition for responding to environmental communication
dilemmas with research, training, and public service.
Established in 1986, CEC is jointly sponsored by the New
Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station and the Edward J.
Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy.
Communication Resource Center (ECRC)
It was established in 1996 as
a resource center for information, research and discussion
concerning Environmental Communication. ECRC is housed in
the School of Communication at Northern Arizona University,
located in Flagstaff, Arizona at an elevation of 7,000 feet

Society of Environmental Journalists is a nonprofit
educational organization founded in 1990 by a group of award
winning reporters. SEJ's mission is to advance public
understanding of environmental issues by improving the

SEJ's membership of more than 1,300 includes journalists
working for newspapers, television and radio stations,
broadcast and cable networks, magazines, newsletters, wire
services and photo agencies, as well as educators and
